The Origin Story

Remember the age-old adage from our school days? "Excel academically, and a successful life will follow." Like many, I believed this formula – that good grades lead to prestigious opportunities and happiness.

But as we know, life's pathways are rarely so linear. Despite academic success, I struggled socially in school and professionally in my early career. As a top-performing student and salesperson, I excelled individually but often conflicted with others. My intense focus on efficiency clashed with considering human factors, leading to frustration on all sides.

Realizing this approach limited my potential, I sought change but lacked direction. I turned to fields like psychology, philosophy and history for answers, and found valuable perspective. However, it was neuroscience that unlocked deeper insights for me. Understanding behaviors through a biological lens allowed me to view humanity in a more empathetic, objective way.

This understanding transformed slowly, not overnight. But it opened doors to meaningful relationships at work and in life. I learned to see our shared human strengths and limitations, as well as each person's capacity to grow.

This blog shares learnings from my journey—how science illuminates daily experiences, cultivates empathy, and celebrates our adaptability. Through reflections and relevant research, I aim to offer perspectives on understanding ourselves and others. Whether pursuing personal or professional growth, you'll find insights on nuanced topics like developing resilience, overcoming biases, and nurturing compassion.

Let me know if any posts resonate as you follow along! I'd love your thoughts and experiences to enhance our discussions. As observers of shared human experiences, we can all support positive change. I'm glad to have you join me on this continuing voyage of discovery.
